The Peradeniya University Alumni Association of New South Wales (PUAAN) is an apolitical, inclusive and non-profit organisation committed to fostering a respectful and welcoming community that embraces diversity and values people of all faiths and backgrounds.

PUAAN brings together alumni of the University of Peradeniya residing in New South Wales, Australia, and promotes enduring connections across faculties, disciplines and generations. United by a shared heritage, our members celebrate the values, friendships and experiences that have shaped their lives through their association with one of Sri Lanka’s most distinguished universities.

Our Mission

Creating an atmosphere where its members are freely sharing their unique values and norms that were acquired during the university life in Peradeniya and enriched culture in Sri Lanka.

Our Objectives

To encourage, foster and promote close relations between the University and its alumni and among the alumni themselves and also engage in matters of common interest to people of Sri Lankan origin living in Australia.
To promote, in the alumni body, an interest in the affairs and well being of the University.r differences
To provide and disseminate information regarding the University, its graduates, faculties and students, to the alumni.
To ensure that programs are initiated and developed for the benefit of the alumni.
To assist and support the efforts of the University in obtaining funds for development.
To serve as a medium through which alumni may support and advance the pursuit of academic excellence at the University.
To guide and assist alumni who have recently completed their courses of study at the University to obtain employment and engage in productive pursuit useful to society.
To pursue any other objectives consistent with the above aims and objectives of the Association.

We alim to connect, engage and support the alumni community while contributing meaningfully to the University that has played an important role in our personal and professional development. Through community initiatives, professional and social networking, cultural activities, fundraising and other collaborative programs, PUAAN seeks to strengthen alumni relationships and create a positive and lasting impact.

As part of this commitment, PUAAN supports current students of the University of Peradeniya through scholarships, studentships and a range of educational and development initiatives across disciplines. These efforts reflect our continuing responsibility to support future generations and contribute to the advancement of the University.

Over the years, the University of Peradeniya has nurtured generations of leaders, professionals, scholars, innovators and change-makers whose contributions have enhanced its standing both in Sri Lanka and internationally. As alumni, we are proud to uphold and extend this legacy through service, collaboration, fellowship and a shared commitment to making a positive difference in the communities we serve.
